Cayman R is Britain's best driver's car

If you are looking for a Porsche for sale and want a real driver’s car then according to Autocar the Cayman R is the best choice. The Cayman is a mid-engined rear wheel drive car produced by Porsche since 2005. It sits between the Porsche Boxster and the Carrera.
The first generation Cayman shares many of its components with the Boxster, including the front wings and boot lid, side doors, headlights, taillights and forward portion of the interior. When it comes to performance the Cayman can challenge some of the Carrera models, in standard form it can do 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and has a top speed of 160 mph.

The second generation Cayman was launched in 2009; it saw an increase in engine size from 2.7 litres to 2.9 litres, resulting in a 20 bhp power output increase. Last year Porsche launched the Cayman R; it has a new body kit, new 482-millimetre lightweight wheels, lighter aluminium doors, lighter bucket seats. Some luxuries were removed to make the car lighter, including the radio, storage compartments, air-conditioners and door handles.

The Cayman R uses a 3.4 litre engine that has 330 bhp, in standard form it can do 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds. With the addition of the optional 7-speed PDK dual clutch transmission and the Sport Chrono package, it can finish 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds.

The Porsche Cayman R has been named Britain's Best Driver's Car for 2011, having won the annual contest run by Autocar. 11 of 2011's most exciting new cars were tested on public roads and the racetrack to decide which offers the greatest thrill for the driver. The Cayman was voted the best.
