road purpose and in the off-road tests it scored average results.
First Generation (2007-Present)
The full-sized crossover sport utility vehicle, Audi Q7 is offered in Quattro four wheel drive system. The standard engine to the model is a 4.2 liter V8 version. The other engines available to the vehicle include 3.6 liter FSI V6, 4.2 liter TDI V8, 3.0 liter TDI V6 and 6.0 liter TDI V12. These engines can be mated to only available 6-speed automatic transmission. With the standard engine, the SUV model can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a time span of just 8.5 seconds.
As far as the exterior dimensions of the model are concerned, it has the wheel base of 118.2 inches, length of 200.2 inches, width of 78.1 inches and height of 68.3 inches. It is related to Volkswagen Touareg model. The Audi Q7 is the first model to feature side assist system.
Despite its safety electronics and multiple air bags, the Audi Q7 scored above average in NCAP crash tests. However, it received five star ratings in NHTSA tests conducted in USA.
2011 Audi Q7
2011 Audi Q7 is launched in market with revised engine specifications for delivering higher fuel-economy. The vehicle is equipped with strong 3.0-liter V-6 engine, which produces 333-horsepower, coupled to 8-speed automatic transmission system.
ENCO Exclusive Audi Q7 3.0 TDI
ENCO goes XXL
Without question: the formidable but equally stylish Audi Q7 always has an imposing appearance and cuts a fine figure both on the promenade and on long stretches of motorway. The large Ingolstadt car does not even shrink from light offroad excursions and can therefore can be recommended for (almost) all cases.
V12 look for all
ENCO Exclusive from Chemnitz however saw further potential for optical and technical improvements to the high calibre SUV. The Saxons trimmed the front and back of a Q7 3.0 TDI from the first series with original Audi parts in the style of the V12 top model, which lends the Audi an enormous lasting prestige. The giant radiator grill looks like a mouth ripped wide open from the inside mirror, which seems to want to “absorb” small cars in front of it. In addition the spot lights from the face lift model were used at the front and back, which modernises the face of the sports utility vehicle. The widening of the wheel arches which gives the ENCO Q7 an even more broad-shouldered appearance were of course specially constructed to be used together with the V12 components as well as the original S line package.
Like the rest of the giant body, the ENCO GT bonnet, made completely of carbon fibre with built-in ventilation slits, was covered in a matt black foliation, which gives the Q7 the stealth look that is currently so popular.
Ceramic stopper behind 23 inch wheels
Of course, the ECO Q7 has the in-house Jura rims which are used in the impressive size of 11×23 inches and are painted with the “black chrome” finish. Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres, fitted onto the one piece, dimensions 315/25R23, provide contact with the road. The observer’s gaze will move from the chic wheels to the yellow saddle of a ceramic braking system. The sinfully expensive performance stoppers were transplanted from a Porsche Cayenne and bring the heavy Q7 safely to a standstill under any conditions. The Audi is lowered by means of a lower suspension setting module for the standard airride system.
Typically for ENCO, the interior was also finished with various carbon parts. ENCO boss Jens Engelmann focussed on colour, decided on bronze carbon look applications, which were used in the dashboard, middle console, door coverings and in the newly designed sports steering wheel. Additionally, you will find a multimedia system with DVB-T tuner on board for terrestrial digital television, a DVD player, a games console and a head rest monitor in each front seat.

Although Audi is mainly known for superb sedans and roadsters, the car manufacturer also produces mini vans, crossovers, and SUVs. The best car to get if you are looking for an Audi SUV would have to be the Audi Q7, especially the 2010 version. This car offers so much to its driver and it is definitely one of the best SUVs available on the market today.
The one thing I instantly love about the 2010 Audi Q7 is its sleek interior. You will be amazed to see just how well the product designers and engineers of Audi placed buttons, add accents and various touches, and install technological and luxury features to the interior of this car perfectly. You will be able to enjoy driving this car while accessing all the features offered by it without hassle.
2011 Audi Q7Just as it followed the VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne into the marketplace, the Audi Q7now will be following their lead on engine downsizing. While itsrecently updated exterior remains unchanged, the 2011 Q7 loses both ofits current gasoline engines, the 280-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 and the 350-hp,4.2-liter V-8. They get replaced by two variations of the superchargedTFSI 3.0-liter V-6 found in the A6, S4, and S5.
In the Q7, theentry-level 3.0 TFSI makes 272 hp and produces 295 lb-ft of torque—downeight horses but up 29 lb-ft from the 3.6-liter's 266. The stronger Q7’s3.0 makes 333 hp and produces 325 lb-ft of torque, a 17-hp deficitcompared to the outgoing V-8 but matching it in the torque column. Topspeed with the new engines is 140 and 152 mph, respectively.
Whilewe don't have U.S. fuel-economy figures yet, Q7’s mileage will improvemarkedly. In Europe, the entry-level model improves by 12 percent, andthe stronger motor tops the V-8 by 16 percent. That's partly thanks tothe new engines and partly thanks to the eight-speed automatic thatreplaces the current six-speed box across the board.
